She's Here!!!!

We are so in love with this new little girl in our family! Sydney Grace was born last Friday evening the 13th (haha). She weighed 6 lbs 13 oz and was 19 inches long! We can't get enough of this sweet girl!

We couldn't believe how much hair she had on that head of hers!

The story...

Things didn't exactly go as planned, but everybody is healthy and happy:) At my last weekly checkup (the 11th) the mid wives told me they were concerned because I had been measuring the same for a couple weeks and this week was actually measuring smaller than the last. They wanted to do an ultrasound the next day to make sure everything was ok. After the ultrasound they told us that they highly recommended that Travis and I go home, eat some dinner, pack our bags and be back at the hospital that night to being an induction! We were really wanting to have a natural birth, but were told that the drugs used for induction cause contractions to more strong and intense and the likelihood of pain medication was high. I still wanted to give going natural a shot but after a very long Thursday night and 8 hours on Friday of intense contractions (and STILL being at a 4 after all this!) I happily welcomed the epidural haha:) Even though things didn't go like we had hoped, it didn't matter one little bit the minute we saw her! Travis sure is one proud papa:) He adores her! I can't imagine having to go through everything without him. He is a great labor coach!

It feels like the past 5 days have flown by! It's still hard to comprehend that this baby girl is ours. I just love her so much!
